MWL
– Manufactured With Love – is an inspired collaboration
between fashion designer Karolin
Maier-Hauff
and graphic designer Katrin Wiens.
After
a serendipitous meeting in Berlin, the two decided to combine their
disciplines back in New York City as a means to explore and surface
a new perspective on design. Launching the first MWL item in March
of 2002, a self-produced exhibition in a Chinatown space in Manhattan
landed them a spot in the visionary Lower East Side boutique, Seven.
Manufactured With Love is created in collectible limited editions,
as an antidote to the banality of mass market goods, fostering the
very personal approach and unique theme each product is based on.
Fusing graphics and fashion, MWL moves design into the realm of art,
for everyone.
